Tournament Rules

These rules govern the Caribbean Tire Inter-Office 8 Ball Pool Tournament, promoted by the Belize Billiards Sporting League (BBSL). This page summarizes the official competition guidelines based on the latest published rules.

• Only 8 Ball will be played throughout the tournament.
• Matches are race to 2, meaning the first player to win 2 games wins the match.
• Each team must field 7 players for each match day.
• Each win counts for 2 points in the team standings.

• Teams consist of up to 8 players for each match night.
• Maximum of 3 professional players per team.
• All 7 players must play each match night.

• Team match is best-of-7 individual sets (7 boards).
• Official start times and table assignments are determined by organizers/host venue.

• Each individual win counts for 2 points in standings.
• Team standings are shown by Match (W–L), Game (W–L), and Points (For–Against).
• Tournament results may include bonus/penalty provisions as defined by officials.

• Season fixtures and standings maintained throughout the event.
• Playoff format and qualification criteria announced by organizers.

• Players and teams must follow BBSL sportsmanship standards and venue rules.
• Unsportsmanlike behavior may lead to warnings, frame forfeits, or match penalties.
• Disputes are resolved by assigned officials; their decision is final on match night.

• Tables, balls, and cues should meet standard 8-Ball specifications.
• Host venues maintain equipment; any concerns must be raised before play begins.

The tournament committee reserves the right to modify these rules as necessary throughout the competition. Any changes will be communicated to all team captains.
